What's been going on
Completed a short assignment and took off to Goa. By train. That was an experience. I am trying hard nt to label things as good and bad now - off what I read in Richard Schwabz' 'No Bad Parts'. Really good and solid advice. Ties in with Vedant really deeply - the idea that all you can do (and what you must do) is be a strong and firm witness to whatever is happening in and around you.
Anyway. Goa. Palolem was a jewel. It was all shades of perfection - the crescent strip of golden sand, the archipelago-type mangrove formations on either sides, large, dark rocks, stormy skies in the mornings and nights, glasses of chilled deep, red wine, sweet and happy people around, lazy dogs that would come to the table, wait for scraps, smile and sleep off near your chair, slothful cows that would look at you chew, find you boring, and turn around - Palolem was poetry. It is the poetry you write when you know that love is out there and you may never have it - but the wait is still worth your while.
I was imbibing after 12 years or so! But the intoxication was gorgeous...And it didn't come from the spirits.
Something about Goa is so everlasting!
