Just enough for a postcard

I am just back from a holiday. After a nourishing two days with parents, I returned to Pune. It was late and dark, and yet, somehow, I felt happy and free. There was no agitation about whether I would get an auto or whether I would meet a freak on my way home. There were simple merry plans of having dinner alone and walking back, if nothing was available.

This sense of secure belonging was a memento from my trip, I think.

Suddenly, I have this need to pay homage to all those who travel the world – who feel at home on so many, many parts of the earth.

It’s great to look back to see how many steps you have taken, and understand that none of them have been on a ‘strange’ land.

Thnx! I took that picture at Keshavsoot Smarak, Malgund, near Ganapati Pule.
Initially those places are 'strange', but then gradually it becomes 'a home away from home'. :)

Glad you had a good time off. A cliche.. home is where you make to be. I think if you have the ability ot reach out to other people and cultures, interesting and memorable experiences will always happen.

I assume you meant "nourishing" in a holistic sense, not a calorific one. Well - some of us don't have that luxury. We have to wander the world seeking our own happy place. Some find it, some don't.

Hi Jay,

Yes...such info would be helpful! I'll email you soon. Also, it would be great if you give me an idea on what kind of a budget I should have to go there.

(Will most probably be going there with a pal.) Again, thanks a lot for the help. :-)

Hi Mukta,

like you sometimes talk about those cravings for red meat; i have those kind of cravings for home. like today. i have looked around at everyone and wondered and wondered why dont i seem to fit in. (i, most often, dont feel out of place.)

ah! for a nourishing trip to back home!
